Reclaiming Success explores the ways in which Transfer Schools are positively impacting and changing the lives of young people in NYC. The film looks deeply at the educational policies used to measure the success of schools that are jeopardizing the future of Transfer Schools, which are meant to serve and empower NYC’s most systematically disadvantaged youth. Centering the voices and experiences of Transfer School Students, Reclaiming Success tells powerful personal stories of resilience and sheds light on harmful power structures that leave little room for accountability around the ways decisions about schools are made. This film not only asks critical questions, but serves as a necessary reminder that we all have so much to learn from our youth, and they are demanding to be heard.
